EXPERIENCED DESIGNER
Hopkins Foodservice Specialists, Inc. a nationally-known foodservice design firm with global experience nestled in Cabin John, Maryland, seeks an experienced designer to join our accomplished team of professionals.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Identify design criteria
- Interview end users
- Document operational program
- Coordinate with A/E project managers
- Prepare feasibility studies (Capable but not a typical task)
- Prepare blocking and adjacency diagrams
- Equipment layout for kitchens, serveries
- Equipment selection and specification
- Utility rough-in plans and loads
- Custom fabrication details and specifications
- Standard details
- Review submittals
- Perform site inspections
- Assist engineers with design of utility distribution systems, kitchen ventilation systems; and
- Assist architects with design intent sketches of millwork.
Skills and Talents
- The ability to manage a workload that can include as many as 30 projects (in various stages of design) at a time.
- Ability to demonstrate on-time delivery.
- Ability to schedule, train and manage support staff in a collaborative manner using established procedures.
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy.
- Ability to integrate quality control and process improvement procedures into daily responsibilities; and
- Ability to work in a congenial, collaborative manner.
Requirements:
- At least five (5) years experience in food service design and project management
- Ten (10) years design experience overall.
- Proficient in 2D AutoCAD
- BIM experience helpful, Revit or Bentley BIM.
- BS in either architecture or engineering.
- Excellent command of the English language, both oral and written
- Good character, trustworthy, prompt, reliable.
- US citizenship required; and
- Project owner references.
Applicants should be familiar with the following software programs in addition to AutoCAD:
- Excel
- Word
- Autoquotes
- Microstation
- 3D modeling skills a plus; and
- FCSI and CFSP members preferred.
Occasional travel may be required.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay: Commensurate with experience. 55-90K
